In detail

Listed as a historical monument since 1987, the baroque church of Saint-Gervais and Saint-Protais in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in Haute-Savoie benefits from "architectural" interior and exterior lighting, which earned it the EDF Trophy as part of the 25th edition of the Aurhalpin Heritage Prize 2020, which rewards the quality of lighting in heritage structures following a complete restoration in 2016 as part of the Alcotra cross-border European cooperation program between France and Italy.

Illuminated by lighting points on the ground or judiciously integrated into the facade, the main facade can reveal at night the decorative elements that adorn it - such as the drawings on the underside of the roof overhang or the two icons on either side of the entrance door - thanks to light flows directed and concentrated on them. By following the structural and decorative elements of the building, the light allows the building to be redesigned and the essential elements of its architecture to be seen at a glance.

A light projected from the interior on the contemporary stained glass windows allows to highlight them.
