In detail

The Allées de la Liberté project is part of a city that stands out from many others in terms of its self-confidence and image.

Our conceptual guideline was based, on the one hand, on the elements of Cannois symbolic identity (notably the brand image diffused during the numerous festivals it hosts within the Palais des Festivals, located nearby), and on the other hand, on the natural components that inhabit and surround the site of the Allées de la Liberté.

The presence of water, for example, is an important aspect: overlooking the harbor esplanade at its end, the sector of the alleys is in direct relation with the sea, which it contemplates and sublimates through the installation of basins and fountains animated by tinted, elegant and dynamic light effects.

The lighting furniture is custom designed for this project. It proposes a set of lighting columns surrounded by a refined openwork case with plant motifs allowing the columns to levitate thanks to a careful backlighting. This also allows to trace the pedestrian axis from the human vision and to bring warm lighting points, notably in front of the benches, for the users passing by or resting.

On the whole site, the lighting project tends to distinguish the axes and to underline their perpendicularity.

From time to time, it proposes precise orientations of light pointing out particular elements of the site (war memorial, fountains, kiosks, etc.). The walk is then scenographic and rhythmic, through a more homogeneous whole than at present.

At important crossroads, organic graphic projections inspired by the maritime site and vegetated symbolize on the ground these areas of meetings and change of flow. On the large esplanade of the port, in the immediate vicinity of the Palais des Festivals, large design masts project images linked to the imaginary of the 7th art celebrated annually during the famous Cannes festival.
