In detail

With its Romanesque-Byzantine style and extraordinary proportions, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Grenoble, more than a century after its construction, has regained its rightful dignity through its complete interior renovation and the distinguished lighting project with which we have clothed it.

The lighting we designed illuminates not only the church itself (on the main façade and within it) but also the interior spaces created for diocesan services.

Lighted settings can be created for some liturgical occasions.

Overall, the interior lighting project aspires to subtly underline the immaculate white of the vaulted ceiling of the nave and choir, to draw the openings as well as the verticality of the constructive elements and to emphasize the stained glass windows designed by Arcabas and realized by Christophe Berthier, master glassmaker.

The lighting, both natural and artificial, places the spiritual symbolism at the heart of the building and graphically underlines the original architectural style.
